Your notes

Notes are plain .md files in a folder you choose. They are read and written locally. Next to them the app keeps a few small files of its own — _vault-meta.json (folder colours and icons), _vault-dates.json (note dates), _automations.json (what the automations already did) — so they travel with the vault. Settings, Google tokens and your API key stay in the app's settings file on this computer, outside the vault. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you turn on one of the services below, and each one is off until you set it up yourself.

What we never collect

No telemetry, no usage statistics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no account. Your email address never reaches us. We do not operate a server that your notes pass through.

Reminders through Google Calendar (optional)

If you turn on Reminders on your phone in Settings, Voidless creates a calendar of its own in your Google account, named after your vault folder, and writes one event per reminder into it, so your phone can ring while the editor is closed. It asks for the calendar.app.created permission, which reaches only the calendars this app created — never your existing ones — and for the account's email address, to show Connected as …. Its tokens and the address are stored on your computer. The event carries the text of the reminder line and the note's path; turn on Hide reminder text in Settings and it sends a neutral title and no path instead. Turning reminders off deletes the future events it created; Disconnect in Settings does that too and removes the tokens from this computer, without revoking the app's access on Google's side.

AI on your own key (optional)

The AI uses Anthropic's Claude API with the key you paste in Settings. The key is stored on your computer. Requests go straight from your computer to Anthropic, under your own API account — no server of ours in between — and Anthropic's terms for its API apply to them. Without a key nothing is sent; with one, only these send anything, and only when you use them:

• Edit text — the text you selected (with nothing selected, the paragraph the caret is in, shown selected first) and the points or instruction you gave, when you press Submit.
• Ask your notes — your question and the earlier questions and answers of that chat, plus what the AI looks up to answer: note paths with a line of context for each search hit, lists of note paths, and the notes it opens, up to 20,000 characters of each.
• The AI node — the node's instruction and the text of each note it runs on (its YAML properties stay out). It runs only on Run now, ⌘P or a note's right-click menu — never on a save or a schedule — and asks before it sends.

Updates

The app checks GitHub for a newer release and downloads it when you agree. That request reaches GitHub, which sees your IP address as any download would; it carries nothing about you or your notes.

Diagnostic logs

Voidless writes no log files. Errors go to the app's console (⌘⌥I on a Mac, Ctrl+Alt+I on Windows), which stays on your computer and is never uploaded. If you send what it shows to support, you decide what to send — read it first. A 🔴 logs folder left in a vault by older versions is skipped by the AI.

Taking it all back

Delete the app and your notes remain — they are your files. Disconnect in Settings removes the Calendar tokens from this computer; to revoke the app's access to your Google account, remove Voidless at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Clear the Claude API key in Settings to stop the AI; to revoke the key itself, delete it in your Anthropic Console. There is no account of ours to delete.
