Your notes
Notes are plain .md files in a folder you choose. They are read and
written locally. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you turn on one of the
integrations below, and each one is off until you connect it yourself.
Privacy
Voidless is a desktop app that edits files on your computer. It has no accounts, no servers of ours, and no analytics. Last updated 21 August 2026.
What we never collect
No telemetry, no usage statistics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no account, no email address. We do not operate a server that your notes pass through.
Google Drive sync (optional)
If you connect Drive, files from your vault are uploaded to your own Google account
so your machines stay in step. Voidless asks for the drive.file
permission, which only reaches files and folders this app itself created or you
explicitly opened — the rest of your Drive stays invisible to it. Tokens are stored
on your computer. Disconnecting in Settings removes them; deleting the files is done
from your Drive, by you.
Reminders through Google Calendar (optional)
If you turn on reminders, Voidless creates a calendar of its own in your Google
account and writes one event per reminder into it, so your phone can ring while the
editor is closed. It asks for the calendar.app.created permission, which
reaches only the calendars this app created — never your existing ones. The event
carries the text of the reminder line and the note's path; turn on
Hide reminder text in Settings and it sends a neutral title instead.
Turning reminders off deletes the future events it created.
Translation and AI features (optional)
The flashcard translator sends the selected word or phrase to the provider whose API key you entered, and nothing else. Without a key, the feature does not run.
Updates
The app checks GitHub for a newer release and downloads it when you agree. That request reaches GitHub, which sees your IP address as any download would; it carries nothing about you or your notes.
Diagnostic logs
Logs are written into your vault and stay there. They are never uploaded. If you send one to support, you decide what to send — read it first, it is a plain text file.
Taking it all back
Delete the app and your notes remain — they are your files. Disconnect Google in Settings to revoke the app's access, or remove it at myaccount.google.com/permissions. There is no account of ours to delete.
